The model is very helpful at helping identify where your organization currently resides on the maturity continuum. It also identifies the characteristics of maturity levels to aspire to in order to improve food safety risk management and cost of quality.

Cultivate’s Maturity Wheel defines the context by which maturity can be quantitatively measured, and by which gaps can be identified in order to drive improvement in food safety behaviors. The data analysis and actions are put into an infrastructure based on a Position Paper from the Global Food Safety Initiative with measurable dimensions and sub-dimensions.
