We work to eradicate foodborne illness. One culture at a time.

Everything we do at Cultivate is aligned to deliver on this mission. Every hour is spent with our partners in industry, academia, and regulatory to help them integrate culture in their food safety activities.

We support Stop Foodborne Illness as part of our mission. This nonprofit organization works to influence regulators and industry through a core group of people who have felt the impact of food safety. Felt it through the loss of a loved one or on their own bodies. We support Stop through our expertise and our founder Lone Jespersen’s role as a director on the Stop board. Please give generously to help Stop continue its important work.

We believe in science and databased decisions to improve food safety through cultural effectiveness as part of our mission. As such, we have partnered with University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) and Professor Carol A. Wallace to continuously push for knowledge founded in scientific principles and solutions. Two of our Cultivate team members, Shingai Nyarugwe and Sophie Tongyu Wu, are also members of the UCLan team. In 2022, Lone Jespersen was awarded a visiting professorship as recognition for her important work completed in the field of culture enabled food safety.
